European Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry: position statement on mental health of child and adolescent refugees
Dear Presidents and Representatives of the ESCAP country members,
Over the last year, ESCAP has raised numerous concerns regarding the impact for our European Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the many children and adolescent refugees arriving in the different countries of Europe. As a reaction, ESCAP initiated projects and published a first aimed and mission paper in the January 2016 issue of ECAP. In addition, we did set up a specific online forum, and posted various documents in order to help and support mental health professionals and allied professionals facing problems related to young refugees in their countries:

ESCAP is now moving to the next step and calling for action. The call for action has been published in our journal ECAP, and posted on our website. These actions should help you and the different child and adolescent societies of Europe to be supported in order to cope the needs of the migrant children and adolescents.
Please do not hesitate to react on our online forum.
Thank you for sharing this document widely with your own health authorities, as well as the professionals in your country.
Best regards.

ESCAP 2017 Geneva Congress theme: TRANSITION Evolving environment or break of balance?
Children and adolescents are living in a world affected by continuous transitions. A phenomenon with a double meaning: it implies a life of change in a constantly evolving environment, as well as a possible a break of balance: a loss of equilibrium. Transition, the leading theme of the ESCAP 2017 Congress, contains many aspects that are relevant to youth mental health.
